The first phone I received was faulty but Amazon sent an immediate replacement.

What a beauty - everyone makes rude comments about it being a bit bigger than an i-phone or Samsung Galaxy, but even with a protective gel cover, it still fits my shirt pocket! I can't get over how much this phone is capable of - the Android Apps seem limitless. My friends and I have been trying to work out what advantages the i-phone 4 or 4S have over this and haven't come up with anything - except "But........it's not an i-phone!"

I absolutely, positively love this phone. I have a holder in the car and it works as a Sat Nav. I can use a voice activated app "Vlingo" to send a text or dial a number whilst on the move - hands-free. To be honest, there are so many things I can do with this phone, I am only scratching the surface! The screen resolution is clear - reading on-line news stories, emails and things is great, something I could do on my old phone but didn't bother with because the appearance was so bad.

The battery, as you would expect with a phone that does lots of things and keeps getting fished out of my pocket and put to work, needs charging every night.

I do strongly recommend buying a rubbery gel protective cover....but that's because I love the phone so much, I'd be gutted if it got broken!

I read the review above and I can only reiterate that the phone does everything I want it to do. There is a slight lag when taking photos and my screen seems to go black momentarily when I make a call. Other than that the phone is excellent. Full marks from me.

After trying a number of smart phones I decided to give the skate a go and so far very good for the money, my eye sight is not so good and I found that this is the only phone that I can read without glasses and works as good as the £3-400.00 smart phones

Brought this about 2 weeks ago and so far so good. This is my first Android phone & I'm getting used to the market. Loads of apps to play with & plenty for a gadget fan. The camera is good, although there is a small lag before the pic is taken. GPS, wireless, bluetooth is all fine. Love google voice search app - seems pretty accurate most times.
I've added a bigger micro sd card to be able to store more music.
Its a good size - a bit big when you're on the phone - but I use the speaker phone a lot.
I looked at the premium phones for hundreds £ more and I'm glad i didnt waste my money. I cant see what i might have missed.
I'd recommend this to a friend - or even to you stranger. Have fun.

So you're considering buying a ZTE Skate....well having bought and used one for a few weeks I certainly wouldn't put you off.
On the smiley plus side you don't have to part up with too much of your hard-earned dosh to own one. Then you've got a whopping great big screen which is a pleasure to use and all the fun and features of far more expensive androids.
On the weepy down side don't expect much from the camera or the quality of the sound when using earphones/headphones. It also drinks battery power and is a wee bit "laggy".
So as long as you're not expecting a faultless product, me thinks it's a bit of a bargain.

I've had my ZTE skate phone for nearly two months now, and I'm extremely glad I bought it. It's my first leap into the world of smartphones, and the prices put me off the more well known ones. I cant see exactly what I'm losing out on by saving £200+ with the ZTE Skate. The screen is a great size - I've had envious remarks off iPhone owners. The battery life seems to be better too, which is quite remarkable considering the screen is quite a bit larger.
The only problems I've had - hence the 4 stars - are with the camera, which seems unresponsive and doesnt take brilliant pictures - and a fault which makes the screen go blank once I've taken/made a call. I cant get the screen back up, meaning I cant hang up. I usually mash every button possible for about two minutes untill the line just goes dead. It is quite annoying, and means I'm leaving a lot of embarrassing voice messages. Considering it's main purpose SHOULD be as a phone, its a fair technical glitch.
However, it's not its main function. Smart phones are the best way to browse/ stay 'E-connected', and discover the world of apps. Free kindle on your phone. Free to download classics. This was my first of many wonderful discoveries.
Sure, the processor may not be super impressive, and the camera may not be top notch, but this is a wonderful little gadget that functions perfectly, and is well worth consideration if you're thinking of getting a smartphone.

The ZTE Skate is nice and it is not expensive - although it is not much more then just another Android-vehicle. Some downsides to it are: outside you absolutely cannot see anything off the screen as sunlight heavily reflects on it, the battery runs out fairly quickly, and although it might just be some error in the (my?) settings - I couldn't get it to re-connect with its' bluetooth-pairing (in this case, the car's hands-free), I have to delete the paired device on the phone and re-pair every time I get in the car, at least until and if I ever find a solution to this problem.

#Update: one week later now, I find that this phone has two other mayor flaws: every X times, when you phone someone up, it rings, the other person picks up (the phone company starts charging fees).. but you hear nothing, the other person hears nothing, and after 10 seconds of "hello? Hello?" etc, you start getting the idea this is not going to change, and you have to hang up and dial again! Sometimes it takes up to 4 times to get it to work! And secondly, when a phone call is being made, the screen turns off to save energy while you are still talking. Now, because there is no physical button to hang up, you have to do this via the touch screen.. but because it is turned off, the screen doesn't work! In the end, if the other person does not hang up, you might not notice and the line just keeps open.. So annoying!
