Now there's a way to enjoy the full content of the Internet, Windows Media Center and more on your HDTV. Just plug your Windows computer into your HDTV, and then use the ZDTV wireless keyboard from the comfort of your favourite chair. ZDTV makes it easy for a user of any technical level or ability to quickly install the software and connect their Windows PC to their HDTV and start enjoying the Internet, streaming, gaming or sharing on their big screen HDTV. From iPlayer and You Tube, to World of Warcraft and enjoying the web, bigger is better! ZDTV also comes with keyboard hot-buttons that anticipate your every need.
The ZDTV keyboard provides the full complement of 12 standard function keys, a numeric keypad, and ten extra function keys. Extra function keys on the ZDTV keyboard include: 1) Shortcut to Media Center; 2) Shortcut to Media Player; 3) Shortcut to Internet Browser; 4) Viewer Magnification On/Off; 5)Viewer Magnification Arrow On/Off; 6) Content Play/Pause; 7) Stop/Play; 8) Mute Sound; 9) Volume Up; 10) Volume Down.
The ZDTV keyboard and software can be used with Windows 7, XP, and Vista computers. For the ultimate system, we recommend using ZDTV with a Windows 7 computer that has an HDMI port, since this makes connection to an HDTV especially easy and also provides the best Media Player/Media Center features. You can keep a desktop computer plugged into your HDTV all the time, or you can plug a laptop computer into your HDTV whenever you want to use ZDTV. ZDTV power management software lets you enjoy extended viewing sessions without the interruption of a sleep mode.
The ZDTV keyboard is a full keyboard with a built-in multi-point touchpad, so a separate mouse is not required. ZDTV includes hot-buttons for the Internet, Windows Media Center, and Windows Media Player, including Play/Pause, Stop, Mute, Volume Up, and Volume Down. The ZDTV keyboard also includes Magnify hot-buttons that make it easy to magnify a portion of the HDTV screen, so even small print on a Web site is easy to read from your favourite chair.
The ZDTV keyboard is powered by four AAA 1.5 volt alkaline batteries with power management and an intelligent sleep mode. Six months or more of operation under normal use is provided with a set of batteries.
To use the ZDTV wireless keyboard to enjoy the Internet on your HDTV, you need to connect a Windows 7, Vista, or XP computer to an HDTV; and that computer needs high-speed Internet access. Note that the CPU and graphics processor in the computer affect the quality of Internet videos, and so does the speed of your Internet connection.

For best results, install ZDTV software on a Windows 7 computer and plug an HDMI cable into a television's HDMI connector. If your computer is a laptop, you can leave the cable connected and simply plug in your computer anytime you want to use ZDTV. You can also use a Windows 7 computer that doesn't have an HDMI port, though these computers typically are less capable of high-resolution videos.
You can even use the ZDTV wireless keyboard with a Windows XP, 2000, or Vista computer, though you may experience some reduction in performance and features.
The ZDTV keyboard controls your computer wirelessly using a proprietary 2.4 GHz wireless standard so you won't have interference from other devices. We include a tiny wireless USB adapter that plugs into your computer and communicates with the ZDTV keyboard.
Through your computer's Internet connection. This is normally through a cable modem, ADSL modem, cellular or satellite modem, or a wired or wireless network connection.
We designed ZDTV to do one thing — bring a whole new dimension of entertainment and the Internet to your HDTV, and deliver them from the comfort of your chair.
Special features include:
ZDTV software currently does require Windows 7. (Latest Firmware Releases now allow use with Windows XP and Vista) We find that computers with an HDMI port normally have enough processing and graphics horsepower to deliver a very good Internet experience on an HDTV. A Windows 7 computer with a DVI or VGA port and a separate audio connection can also be used, but the best video performance normally requires an HDMI port.
The ZDTV wireless keyboard does a great job with any Windows 7, Vista, or XP computer.
The ZDTV wireless keyboard doesn't support the Macintosh yet. (Future software release dates TBC)
You probably won't need help. If you do, our Boston-based support team provides support by phone, email, or the web. Please visit the Zoom website for more details, the latest firmware, and product guides.
You can use ZDTV to deliver a slide show to your HDTV with whatever pictures set the mood you want. And you can play your favourite music or music from Last.fm or some other Web source to further improve the mood.
Yes. ZDTV Magnify features help visually impaired people to see a monitor better, whether or not it's an HDTV. ZDTV is also a great tool for conference rooms with an HDTV.
The conference room would have an HDTV as the display. Connect an HDMI cable between the HDTV's HDMI port and the HDMI port of a Windows 7 laptop or desktop computer, and install ZDTV software on that computer. Plug the ZDTV keyboard's wireless dongle into the Windows 7 computer, so that the wireless keyboard could control the computer and HDTV from anywhere in the conference room. That's it! When someone wants to show a display, he or she installs it on the computer that's connected to the HDTV. For instance, that person could install a PowerPoint display from a USB stick or CD. Then the presentation is made by using the ZDTV wireless keyboard.
