This book was most definitely my crutch when it came to weaning my youngest daughter! With my eldest daughter I had gone down the traditional, pureed, spoon-fed route, so BLW was new territory for me when it came to weaning my youngest and I needed inspiration! This book certainly provided that. It is packed with so many great recipes that are suitable for the whole family. The carbonara, for example, went down a treat with us all! The recipes are well laid out, easy to follow and best of all easy to make.

Also a big plus point for me is that the book also provides lots of ideas on snacks and meal planning - it's helped me get more organised and provide a healthy, balanced diet for my little ones (and myself and my husband).

Now we are out of the early days of weaning it's a book that I still turn to daily for recipes - there are so many in there, that I still have tons to try! Excellent value for money.

Thank you Felicity and Emma, I'll be looking out with interest for your next book!

There are some lovely recipes in this book and we have and are still enjoying some great meals, however the book seems to be full of errors! At the front of the book it explains that you will find some symbols next to some recipes ie. the freezer symbol. Not one single recipe has
This symbol next to it. The same applies for the left overs symbol. The tuna pasta bake recipe misses out milk from the ingredients which is vital for making the sauce so without knowing how much you need it could go very wrong! The vegetarian moussaka fails to tell you what temperature to heat the oven to. I'm just wondering how many more errors I'm going to find as we've only had the book for a week! I'm very pleased with the recipes but when I've paid money for something I don't expect it to be full of mistakes!

This book is excellent, and it has loads of recipes which are now being enjoyed by me and my husband, our 4 year old daughter and our weaning baby.

I used various finger food and weaning books for my daughter, including Annabel Karmel, and was constantly frustrated at having to adapt the recipes to remove the sugar or salt etc. Plus loads of the recipes required frying, which just ended up with burnt, greasy food that my daughter refused to eat.

This book is brilliant, because it has heaps of really interesting recipes which taste great without any salt and sugar in the recipe, and lots of easy hob or oven cooking.

The recipes are healthy, wholesome, easy and taste great. Plus there's loads of quick, handy, helpful tips and adult add-ons.

You can't go wrong if you buy this. Wish it had been around when i was weaning my daughter. Have already bought a second copy as a present for my sister-in-law.

Love, love, love this book! So practical, and gives you loads of ideas for toddlers. My twins cannot get enough of the breakfast bars, and so healthy for them too! Highly recommend!

I have had this book a week now and have started Baby Led Weaning. Even though we are on the finger food stage, I cannot wait to get started on the full meals that are in this book. It is clear and very informative about foods and I know that my daughter will be getting a good start to weaning with help from this book.

It does have the stars next to the dishes that are suitable for freezing, its great it tells you what you can do with leftovers and its so much easier not having to worry about omiting salt/sugar as they are just not in the recipes.

I would highly recommend!

I was really struggling with putting together anything other then baby puree for my little one, which whilst she liked she didn't ever seem to be over joyed by being spoon fed. This book helped me to start thinking about making the same meal for us all and just tweaking standard meals so that they become baby friendly and give your little one something to grab and chew on. I loved that it's set out as breakfast, snacks, lunch, dinners and deserts which makes it easy to flick to the right chapter and find a new tasty meal for my little one to try. The recipes all come with helpful tips for alterations, grown up add on and left overs which is hugely helpful. A great place to start from when you start feeding your little one more then just puree.

As a Grandmother and looking after my Grandchildren i liked the sound of this book and thought it would be helpful to get me 'up to speed' with weaning (as it has been many years since i had to do it) and wow did i find it helpful and very informative. I can cook a single meal for us all, and the leftover recipes are a great idea. The meal planners for different stages will be good as they get to grips with solids, I am finding the tips and tricks from the authors very helpful as they have clearly been through this with their own children.
Thank you Felicity and Emma

I bought this book after reading the reviews. Rather than looking for a BLW cookbook I was looking for finger foods and recipes for the whole family to enjoy (which blw recipes tend to be). I couldn't decide on just one book and bought three, and this is the one I wish I hadn't bothered with. The recipes are accompanied by childish sketches which tell me how many adults/ children they cater for (sorry but they annoy me!), and the photos of the recipes are v poor quality, the finished results are not appetising. The recipes themselves are boring- there are even recipes for cereal (sprinkle a few flakes in a bowl and cover with milk- just in case you didn't know), and toast. Maybe I'm sounding harsh but this book really doesn't appeal to me and I don't understand the five star reviews that convinced me I should buy it. If, like me, you are looking for a family cookbook go for the 'river cottage baby & toddler cookbook', it is worth five stars.
