Marillion are back with a new Album (Marbles) and new Single (You're Gone), but they never went away. They've always been there, not just pushing the envelope of music, but using it to create sonic origami. Forget Kayleigh, This is the real deal.
The new single kicks in with a samba beat not unentirely reminiscent of the Stone's Sympathy for the Devil. This drives it whilst all the while staying enough in back to let Steve Hogarth's poignant voice shine through amidst the layered texture of the song. It's a song of love, loss and ultimately hope.
Falling in love is about taking chances. Take a chance on 'You're gone', and fall in love with Marillion. I did long ago, and they've never dissapointed yet.
