5.0 out of 5 stars Marillion are back!!! 12 April 2004
Format:Audio CD
OK they never went away (This single is off their 13th album), but after listening to their double album I would have to say that it is their finest work in ages! This single, being one of the more uptempo tracks from the album shows how their music (which never has a set style as the band is never afraid to experiment) currently has a musical feel that would appeal to anyone who likes Radiohead, U2, and even a sonic quality that would appeal to any Pink Floyd fan. This is not to say the music sounds dated, far from it, with it's punchy rhythm loops it has a much greater aural quality than many of todays alternative rock bands.
If you thought Marillion was all about Kaleigh and Misplaced Childhood, where have you been for the last 15-20 years. No, Marillion are definately re-born and sounding as fresh as ever.
If you don't believe me just buy this single and then do yourself a favour and buy the double album.

5.0 out of 5 stars A masterpiece 10 April 2004
By Flying
Format:Audio CD
A very good single, that I've been enough lucky to hear in advance to a listening presentation party for the press of the "Marbles" Album. A good rhytm, a beautiful mater song, just one of the many in this unforgettable new Marillion album. An old band with a modern sound, a band to re-discover for who listened to their old tracks, and a band to discover for their sound and contents for who don't know them yet.

5.0 out of 5 stars You're BACK! 10 April 2004
Format:Audio CD
Marillion are back with a new Album (Marbles) and new Single (You're Gone), but they never went away. They've always been there, not just pushing the envelope of music, but using it to create sonic origami. Forget Kayleigh, This is the real deal.
The new single kicks in with a samba beat not unentirely reminiscent of the Stone's Sympathy for the Devil. This drives it whilst all the while staying enough in back to let Steve Hogarth's poignant voice shine through amidst the layered texture of the song. It's a song of love, loss and ultimately hope.
Falling in love is about taking chances. Take a chance on 'You're gone', and fall in love with Marillion. I did long ago, and they've never dissapointed yet.
Thanks, guys.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Marillion 23 April 2004
By The Soft Machine Operator TOP 1000 REVIEWER
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Excellent track from the forthcoming Marbles album - drum loops, guitarriff, and heartfelt vocals. Hopefully this one will give this underrated(And much insulted by the so-called music press) band a boost, and recoversome of the missing fans.
