Full of adventures involving sleepovers, pets, secret diaries, sport and, of course avoiding homework, these books are lively and fun, great for encouraging young children to read by themselves. -- Home and School, Spring 2001 'Full of life and humour ... Perfect for any action-loving readers.' -- The Parents Guide, March 2001 'Jenny Oldfield has created another winner... Lauren Child's perky illustrations perfectly complement this story, and the others in an enjoyable new series' -- Kids Out, April 2001

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent book, 24 Feb 2001
By A Customer
This book is about a girl called Daisy who always gets into trouble. A girl in her class called Winona is Daisy's enemy. Winona is teacher's pet. One day, in the newspaper, Daisy and her best friend, Jimmy, saw about a Soccer School run by Kevin Crowe, a famous footballer, that Jimmy and Daisy would love to meet. Then one day they both ran away to join the Football Academy. They asked a lady in an office where was the Academy. Then Jimmy and Daisy asked if they could join the school. Then the lady said that the school would not be open for a year because it's not built and they haven't got any furniture to put in it. Then Daisy said that it was on the newspaper. The lady said they missed something on the newspaper and showed them it - that it wasn't open till next year. Then they went and sneaked into the football grounds and met their hero, Kevin Crowe. They got to play a match with him. After that when they were in a room they heard thumping and thought it was Kevin Crowe. But it was really her teacher and teacher's pet Winona. That's all, because there was no ending. (Written by SARAH LUCAS, Aged 8 years).

5.0 out of 5 stars A real fun to read book, 20 Feb 2001
By A Customer
Daisy is always in trouble. Her parents own a Pizza Restaurant. In school another girl, Winona, is a real goody goody. She is teacher's pet. Daisy and her friend Jimmy, who are both football mad, decide to run off to join a Football Academy. They have seen this on television. After they run away and are soaking wet and miserable they discover that the Academy is not opening for a year. Also you have to be 12 years old and it's only for two weeks in the Summer. The story doesn't really have a definite ending. However it's a great read!
