I bought this on the strength of the idea, that each child within the family is equally special, just after the arrival of number three. The book is just a gentle tale of a bear family with three little bears and how they are all favourites despite being different - one girl, one with no patches and the littlest. The illustrations are lovely to look at though neither pictures nor story are quite as strong as this author-illustrators classic Guess how much I love you.

There is something sweet about this book , Mammy bear and Daddy bear explain to their 3 little baby bears how they are the best little bears in the whole wide world. The little insecurities of the baby bears are cute : 1 has no patches , 2 is the smallest and 3 is a boy.. each of them think that daddy and mammy prefer the others. Daddy bear explains how they are all their favorites. I agree with other reviewers - this is a nice way to chat to your children about how you love all of them equally.
Illustrations are basic , simple drawing and light colours - browns/creams/tans - quite calming.

An absolutely beautiful book - with lovely pictures to go with it. Perfect for any child who is getting used to a new sibling in the household! Having said this, my 6 year old is an only child but I read this to her as it instills the knowledge that all children in the family are loved equally. It is a favourite of mine and I always choose it when she lets me pick!
