Know Yourself.,

This book is a really fun way to learn more about your personality, how it develops, and then to apply the principles to your relationships both personal and in the workplace.It would be very useful for candidates going for a work interview or having to write a one page description of themselves, ie for a job or university application. The section on personality testing particularly helped me to de-mystify this process as it explains how and why these tests are used! The book has many tests and questionnaires to help you evaluate your personality and to improve on specific traits - eg how better to relate to work colleagues.

Personality made Interesting!,

The subject of personality should be interesting right!? Why is it that if you read anything on the subject it is usually duller than dull and if you've been exposed to pyschometric testing in the workplace than it becomes scary (some overpaid, under educated HR manager wielding dangerous "insights"). This book covers most of the stuff you want to cover as a lay person and is fun to read - worth keeping on the coffee table and dipping into when you feel like it as opposed to propping up the bookshelf.
Thanks for a damn good read!
