Lena Romanoff has written a wonderful and welcoming book, easy to read and well presented, it offers everything you need to know and more. Not afraid to challenge traditional thinking on Judaism and Converts, Romanoff has left nothing out, including the issues of Acceptance, Homosexual Converts, Israel and the Holocaust. She has also included daily reminders for the Jew by Choice and a basic Jewish Vocabulary, emphasizing the fact that this book is a 'good all rounder' for the potential convert. Another important section 'Branches of Judaism' which spells out the differences between Reform, Conservative, Reconstructionist and Orthodox Movements within Judaism, is a must read before deciding on which path to follow - as reform conversions aren't usually accepted by the Orthodox. It is also one of the few books I know of that offer the Movement Guidlines on Conversion - dealing with issues such as potential converts already with children, basic knowledge required etc and proposed schedule of study to be undertaken before conversion. Full of useful yet inspiring information - it is a complete resource for the Jew By Choice and a 'Must Have' for the Jewish Home. Enjoy!!
