5.0 out of 5 stars As good as I knew it would be...., 4 Aug 2009
By M. Crowest "Mikey C" (UK) - See all my reviews

.....I bought 2 of these books as gifts for 2 different novice allotment holders. Having been a member of the Henry Doubleday Research Association, now Garden Organic, for many years I knew of the work and experience of Pauline Pears. She did not dissapoint with this book it's concise and informative, ideal for all, but especially for the new/novice gardener. I recommend the Garden Organic too, it's a great read and they are doing such wonderful work.

4.0 out of 5 stars A bit more basic than I expected, 29 Jan 2009
By S. J. Smith "Simon de Region 2" (Nottingham, England) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I bought this for my wife for xmas. She already has an organic allotment (for the last seven years).

Since I bought it impulsively without researching first it is my own fault, but the book was more basic than I had expected.

However, anyone who has just taken on an allotment or is thinking about it would find a great deal of useful information, and to those people I would heartily recommend it.
