Review by journalist Lewis Dene (Update Mag / Dj Mag)
This refreshing and at times startling debut from Hal Ritson and Cameron Saunders is the sorta record Fatboy Slim should have made to follow-up `We've Come A Long Way Baby'. It's phat, funky, quirky, in-ya-face and above all fun. Stompers like `Wake Up, Make Up...', `Rockall' and `You've Got To...' rub shoulders with the `80s disco boogie pastiche of `It Doesn't Stop', and the electro pop of `Young & Beautiful'. There's also the kitsch: `Interplanetary' (a remake of the Carpenters hit), and neo-classical title track along with and the Eric Prydz-like `Fire'. In fact there's a staggering 19-tracks on show, with many, past, present and future single among them. By refusing to adhere to any one musical style, the Young Punx! may well become one of the most misunderstood artists of their generation, yet despite this, expect this totally absorbing debut to make its mark on the end of year `best of' listings. (Lewis Dene)

Thank GOD, a truly original dance album! These guys are just as good as a live band as they are in the studio. You're Music Is killing Me is full of really original tracks and the bonus CD has some great mixes - most notably Phonat's take on 'Rockall' and Norman Cook's use of Manu Chao's Bongo Bong in his mix of 'You've Got To...' Highly recommended - BUY IT!

Happy, dirty, electro, rock, punk goodness! Spans so many genres it's unreal. Oh and if you like this, go to the official web-site and try out the Young Punx podcast - Hal is hilarious, professional and plays awesome music! I LOVE THE YOUNG PUNX!

Every cut shoudl be getting more attention 26 Dec 2007

I had listened to individual tracks by Hal and Cameron (aka The Young Punx) on the Podsafe Music Network, and really enjoyed the five tracks that they had released that way. The CD was even better. EVERYTHING is solid gold; unique and dance-able: you can hit random suffle and have your own mini dance party anytime, anywhere. What really puts this purchase over the top is the second disc of extended remixes. My wife, who had never heard of the Young Punx, listened to the whole thing during a long car trip and declared that she woudl have bought this double-CD, if I hadn't already. From her, that is high praise indeed.
I don't even like this kind of music... 17 May 2011

...but like any generalization you have to realize how wrong you can be. This album rocks through and through, and I love the bands artwork. Is there hope for the future? No, but at least there is going to be a decent soundtrack.
