This album has been re-released with a few extra tracks and a different play order from the 2002 version.
Its basically a trip hop album, think of Four Tet with vocals in places, but a colder version, less organic more electronic.
Highlights include 'The Colossal Grey Sunshine' with guest vocals from the Flaming Lips, which surprisingly sounds just like the Flaming Lips! Also both tracks which feature Chris Martin from Coldplay are good. These are more electronic, the only Coldplay resemblence being in the vocals.
A good album.

I only listened to one song on the radio which was wild horses, & I loved their version (a hard thing to do with a classic). It has to be said buying the cd was a pleasant suprise as loved the rest of the tracks rocker than i expected (my type). Brought it cause it was cheap , a great buy happy days, will buy others.

Unlike the last 2 reviewers i think this album is fantastic. while it is true that the tracks with guest vocals are, bluntly, the better ones, the others still show imaginative compositional skills. the eclectic mix of styles that run through this album are all favorites of mine and i would recomend this to anyone.

This recently re-released CD is a bit hit and miss in my view. There are some great tracks on it, most notably "Where Is My Boy?" featuring the vocals of Chris Martin, which ranks as one of my favourite tracks of all time. However, there are also a number of extremely average tracks - these get described as "ambient", which to me means "dull and forgettable". I'm certainly not anti-ambient music (I love Brian Eno, Harold Budd etc), just anti-boring music.
Certainly the collaboration tracks are the best, and "Wild Horses" is one of them. It's too up and down for me though, and I find myself simply skipping the boring tracks to get to the 5 or so quality ones. Mind you, I bought it on e-Bay for 1 so I can't really complain!
