Yeh inspirational, perhaps if you are an 18-21 year old female who buys into heroes, quests and other such myth making. The basic idea is fine - visioning - being involved in doing it for over 20 years and thought this book may get it down on paper and help with some other insights. It is aimed fair and square at a more pop level skim surface market.

Could not see any of the men I have worked with over the years getting anywhere near this book, it is so far removed from their syntax and belief systems - pity because the basic idea of creating a life plan is fine, but this did nothing for me except bring up a faint taste of nausea.

This book is another of the many self-help guides on the market that aim to channel our thoughts and energies in a more meaningful, productive way to allow us to achieve our true potential.

Having read three or four of these works now I find them intriguing, but offering much the same strategies as each other.

This book is clear and free of the babble that some writers of self-help books needlessly decorate their works with. As such it's very much worth reading.

I really enjoyed this book. I found it well written, engaging and it made me see clearly why some of my quests in life succeed and others don't. I loved the concept of creating adventures and going on a journey each time you commit to doing something, however big or small. The obstacles that one might encounter were well explained, along with some good tips on how to deal with them. Compared to other books I have read about taking control of your life this one really made me feel that I could apply the ideas to the challenges I face. I read the book straight through without doing many of the suggested exercises and still got a lot from it. Now I keep it close by to refer to when I need a bit of a boost.

I have to say I have read many a book on making life changes but this one is definitely one of the best ones.

I love the idea of being the hero in your journey and there are a lot of relevant examples I could relate to. I found Erica's writing style to be one which is easy to read and also extremely inspiring. I had a lot of 'aha' moments as it felt like some of the words were aimed at me. I related to them so much and it helped me clarify what I wanted to do with my life and how I had let my dreams slip away for a while.

I truly would recommend this book to anyone who wants to make that change but needs some inspiration. I would recommend it to anyone who has let their dreams be pushed to the side and needs to be reminded of them....actually I would just recommend it full stop. It's fab, it's well written and it'll change your life by spurring you into action.

How to sort yourself out and get your life moving using the Joseph Campbell method: see your life as a quest and yourself as the hero of the tale: your life is Star Wars and you are Luke Skywalker; go out and destroy the Death Star/be extraordinary in the office. No one can say it's not an original concept for a self-help book. It works - sort off. At times, the concept is stretched paper thin. Most of the time, this is just your average, motivational, kick-up-the-arse, sort yourself out sort of book, with the usual layout: short, divided paragraphs, easy to remember slogans and affirmations. It's one of the better ones; it certainly made me think. It was a far more entertaining read than most books of this type. It definitely made me want to attend on of the author's workshops.

I've tried (several times now), but I honestly can't get into this book at present (so why 4 stars then??!) Well, it's probably perfect for people who are able to connect with the writer's ideas. The book is well written and Erica has an infectious passion for "change" which shines throughout. Her ideas (which are refreshing and creative) are clearly explained and certainly thought-provoking. And everything is also very nicely presented.

The book basically asks you to think of yourself as a hero in your own adventure story (which sounded to me a bit silly, when I first read it, but the more I read the more I realized that it could be the sort of book that could probably be quite motivational, if I was in the right frame of mind to take it in...) The book isn't pretentious (as some of these can be) and doesn't, either, feel like "businessman boot camp" (as so many do!). It's more of a relaxed life guide, written by someone who is obviously intelligent but also unashamedly quirky. A refreshing (though initially off-putting) approach!...

I think my problem is I've just got too much on at the moment (starting a business--and therefore requiring a high degree of technical focus) to be able to concentrate properly on something so different. It has frequent references to stuff like Star Wars and Indiana Jones (and quote after quote after quote--practically on every page), which is all stuff I like, but it simply doesn't "gel" that well (for me, anyway) alongside learning accountancy and writing business plans! I sort of wish it did, but at present it felt more of a distraction than an aid and I'd prefer to read it properly, than "waste" it, by reading it when I can't focus properly on it. Sorry I can't be of more help than that, but Amazon only allow 30 days for Vine reviews.
