Learning languages is not a strength of mine and I've been trying to learn greek from various teach yourself books and tapes for ages. This book & CD work. I have actually learnt all the vocabulary in less than a month. I'm now working through their next book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Your First 100 words in Greek 10 July 2010
By Adi81
This series Is fantastic for absolute beginners. I'm using this book a long side their other book Read and Speak Greek and I couldn't be more pleased with my progress. I've tryed to learn Greek from various other sources before but no other book I've used has really been geared towards someone looking at this language for the first time. I wish there were 10 books in this series I'd buy them all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Updated, a fun way to learn basic vocabulary! 26 April 2008
By Miriam Martinez Medina - Published on Amazon.com
This is a real fun book with which you can learn basic vocabulary (clothes, animals, countryside, home, parts of the body, around town, useful expressions).

It contains games and puzzles like matching games, find the hidden objects, search a word, label the picture, etc. and tear-out flashcards to memorize the words. In the beginning, it has a pronunciation guide describing the sounds of Greek and of course it contains the answer key to check your progress.

In its new, updated version, this book now DOES include the gender of the nouns (you learn every noun with its article, which didn't happen in the previous versions of the book). It now also contains an accompanying CD that will help make pronunciation easier.

Vocabulary doesn't need to be a pain anymore with this book! (What a pity that they haven't published something similar for intermediate vocabulary!)
2.0 out of 5 stars Came with Broken CD 21 Mar 2014

We were very excited to get this book but it arrived with the cd broken in half. The book was in great condition, better than I expected but I think that if you are selling items that have fragile things with it like cd's you should packages them better. The book is kind of useless without the cd because not knowing how to pronounce the letters or words is impossible.
