I HIGHLY recommend this book.
I've bought lots of books from Amazon before, but this is actually the first time I leave a review, as I think that this book definately deserves it!
Instead of providing you with a quick fix, it explains how to "re-program" your thinking pattern, in a way that you will learn how to succesfully manage your negative emotions - which are caused by your thoughts.
Although I'm honestly not fond of everything in this book, I have chosen to give it 5 stars anyway, as I think that this book is the closest I'll ever get finding the "perfect" self-help book. I bought it toghether with a few other self-help books, expecting that this would only be the first step in feeling better, but after I've read it, I've realized that this is probably all I'll need to "take control of my life".
What I especially like about this book, is that it teaches you to be yourself and act on your own beliefs, regardless what other people might think of you. As I've previously been studying social dynamics, I'm very fond of this approach, as some other self-help books tend to recommend that you have to be nice to other people to win their approval, which will most likely have the opposite effect. Ofcouse it will not make other people hate you, but you'll much likely be perceived as an *** kisser, instead of getting other people to respect you. Don't get me wrong - "Your Erroneous Zones" does not recommend being an ***hole, but to stand by your own point of view, instead of seeking approval. Ironically, that is what will make you win others approval, and even more important, you'll be able to respect yourself.
I have so much more positive to say about this book, but my best advice is that you give it a shot yourself.
