A very informative book. I would recommend it to anyone diagnosed with OP. I learned about this book from The National Osteoporosis Foundation Support Community.

I bought this book to help my mum support her bone health during/after steroid use for an inflammatory condition. I thought I knew a lot about bone health, as I'm a nutritional therapist, but I really learned a lot more from reading this. It's very science based, which is always a help when you're trying to navigate through the minefield of information about what really works and what is just clever marketing by drug companies. The science behind bisphosphonates is truly eye opening, and I recommend anyone who is prescribed these gets fully informed before taking them.

Quite a detailed book, especially helpful to the person who wants to understand more about the importance of diet and healthy bones and the best most effective supplements to take.
Very useful advice.

This books has a lot of good information, but it is too complicated and requires a lot of "studying" to take it all in. I would have like a simpler plan telling us how to achieve better bones. It looks as if we need a ton of supplements each one more difficult to choose than the other. A detailed nutritional plan would have been good. Having said that, I learned a lot and found it quite useful.

If you're writing a PhD on bone health, this might be good for you. Otherwise, for real people in real life it is just full of facts and figures that nobody really cares about, with little in the way of solutions. It mentions recommended vitamins and supplements, little mention of getting that from food, ie naturally. Not a book I would recommend for any real valuable information. The information most people are interested in could be condensed into a few pages.
