5.0 out of 5 stars Very Good 4 Dec 2009
By MR
Format:DVD
For those of you with young babies (2-12 month+) I would highly recommend the 'Your Baby Can Read' series which we found to be by far the best for keeping our granddaughter interested and excited. I would suggest you start playing them quite soon - around 2-3 months so they get use to the sounds. My granddaughter used to get really excited when the intro music started to play! They may have some annoying American pronunciation (i.e. eating, zebra ) and words (i.e. diaper) which I tend to speak loudly over, but overall my granddaughter learnt a great deal from the series, i.e. body parts, expressions, animals, songs, actions, colours, shapes etc. I've given it top marks even with the america/uk crossover problems, because compared to other baby dvds, it really deserves 5 stars. If you can't get it on amazon, you can get it from other internet sources.

I have to say I have been particularly disappointed by baby/toddler/infant DVDs, which I have purchased by the bucket load since becoming a grandparent and am surprised by how little good material there is out there.

One last thing they are in NTSC US format (not UK PAL) - so you will need a multi-regional DVD player.

3.0 out of 5 stars Educational but no briiliant 29 Jan 2011
By Hat
Format:DVD
I purschsed this set for my 6 month old and three year old. I also have a collection of the baby einstien dvds. Both my boys enjoy the baby einstein dvds as the colours and music is capturing. These are very educational however the pronounciation isnt really suitable for the UK in the use of ceratin words likes "rattle". They need to be broken down with more music rather than pictures & words.

2.0 out of 5 stars poor 3 Jan 2014
By mama2bb
Format:DVD
My son did not like this DVD set. He enjoyed the singing parts and paid no attention to the rest. My son is 2. I found the ever to be very dated. The picture quality, the hairstyles and the fashion just screamed the 90s. An updated British version will be welcomed.
My two year old loves music. So I went on youtube and found rock n learn, and he loved it. So will be ordering those dvds.

Your baby WILL learn to read! My sons have been reading since they were one and if I had known about this programme earlier, I would've started doing You Baby with them from day one.
