Product Description

Synopsis
This is the exciting final volume in the glorious fantasy series "The Dreamers"...The attacks of the dreadful insect queen known as the Vlagh have been repelled in three of the Elder Gods' realms. Now, only the land ruled by the Goddess Aracia remains for the Vlagh to send her hordes to attack. But while the Gods, their younger avatars and their human comrades have emerged victorious from all previous encounters, this time the Goddess herself may be their greatest foe - she craves worship and hates the idea of being replaced by a younger God when her time comes to an end!and that time is approaching fast. This is a mighty conclusion to a fabulous series!

1.0 out of 5 stars I'm sorry Eddings fans......, 2 Aug 2006
By Mr. J. T. Dunn "J Dizzler" (Swansea) - See all my reviews

If I were 12years old again I might just have enjoyed this.
I thought it was simple reading, and filled with such repetition. Yet somehow the details that were meant to link the story together never sank in.

The characters seem to get worse the further through the series you go as well! Rather than developing the characters they all seem to meld into one character you couldnt give a damn about.

And definatly don't get me started on the ending. I read all four books hoping for some kind of redeming feature somewhere, anywhere. Suffice to say it never comes and the ending leaves you banging your head on a wall wondering why you just spent the time to ready these books.

However I stick to me original comment that they would have been a good read 10 years ago, and I possibly wouldnt be so harsh if I hadnt read the other Eddings stuff which is so much better.

1.0 out of 5 stars God awful...., 30 Jul 2006
By Rolfey (Watford, UK) - See all my reviews
To jump on the bandwagon with the other reviews here...
I've enjoyed David Eddings previous works and only managed to read this set of 4 books out of a sense of loyalty. I have often stated to my girlfriend that his work has gone downhill whenever he adds his wifes name to it and now that I see others sharing the opinion I feel better about thnking it! This series is dull. Had a massive potential to be as good as previous work but just didn't do it. All the characters had similar personalities (ie, none) and the humour attempt at the end of every section simply wasn't funny. Like the other reviewers I feel I may never be able to purchase new Eddings work again either. If he can do it without ruining it I say bring back Sparhawk.

2.0 out of 5 stars I believe Eddings has lost it, 3 Jun 2006
By Mr. Andrew Secker "bookworm" (Huddersfield uk) - See all my reviews

I have been an ardent fan of David Eddings for years I found this book to be the worst series ending he has ever done what an anti-climax i will think very carefully before picking up his next book to read. If you are new to Eddings read all his earlier works such as Belgariad Mallorean all the sparhawk books before passing judgement on him avoid the Dreamers series at all costs
