Kid's reference 3 Jan 2011
Format:Paperback
This is a great series for enquiring young minds - whacky illustrations to back up proper reference text.

These books appeals to my 5 yr old son (boys love 'fact' books, it seems) as well as my 10yr old daughter.

No Broken Bones Here 12 Nov 2009
By Spudman - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Kate Lennard has the ability to make the complicated seem simple, the obtuse seem transparent, the boring seem fun and interesting. She weaves her magic is this Young Genius volume that precedes her equally stellar Brains and Eyes. Young Genius explains bones like you've never seen them explained before with humor and factual substance. Young readers will enjoy following the antics of Young Genius and his cute mouse companion and come away with a better understanding of the anatomical material, laying the foundation for more serious readings later in life. Students with whom I share Kate Lennard books invariably love them.
My son said, "This book is Genius".. 23 Aug 2011
By Mom at Home - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
It was so cute. After reading this book my 4 year old son said those very words, "Mommy, this book is genius." It is fun even for grown ups to read. Each page is filled with interesting facts illustrated in such a creative way. There is an English flair to the book. I could tell without even looking that it was written by and English author. She spells yogurt with an h, - yoghurt. And she refers to bone marrow looking like a "Crunchie Bar". I'm from Canada so I know what Crunchie Bars are. And yes, Crunchie's look like bone marrow. Anyway, my son LOVES this book. He has it memorized. He loves to rattle off facts about our skeletons. It's a great learning tool, and fun for kids. I'm going to purchase more in the series.
