A year ago i was an ignoramus when it came to the magnificant band The Flaming Lips. Thanks to this song, i am now a devoted fan (at least to the Yoshimi album).
I find this song particulary evocative because it melds such beautiful lyrics ("do you realise that happiness makes you cry, do you realise that everyone you know, oneday will die")with mesmorising music. The lyrics are not meant to be macbre and it may seem so if you have just read them, but with the addition of the tune, and Wayne Coyne's fascinating vocals, an instant classic is created.
Add this to the fact that The Flaming Lips played some cracking good live tours of the British festivals this year, and pulled them off quite brilliantly, you have a single you must simple buy buy buy, until you've run out of money!

if you liked anything from zaireeka, you'll like up above the daily hum. i'm glad it wasn't on the album, but it and the instrumental are cool.

Greatest Single I've heard in years!!!

This single is great. The song Do you Realize?? is a great song to hear and is great to open the single with. The best song is the 2nd one though. Above the daily Hum is a great song. You can't say it isn't because it is. I don't know why this song didn't make the album, it would have been great on there.Xanthe Terra is a cool song too, it's on the Christmas on Mars album. Any Flaming Lips fan should get this single, it's a must have.
