Product Description

Product Description

Ian Gawler is Australia's best-known cancer survivor. His book You Can Conquer Cancer was a revolutionary book when first published in 1984. It has been reprinted sixteen times and translated into German Spanish Dutch Russian Swedish Hebrew Indonesian Polish Sinhalese Thai Czech and Korean. It has become a classic and one of the most widely-read books on the subject of cancer prevention and management. This new edition contains all of the information which made it such a 'must read' reference book along with whole new sections of vital updated information. People faced with cancer take life seriously - very seriously. They want answers; they need to know what works. I know this feeling. For over twenty years now I have sat in groups with thousands of others going through cancer. Between us we have tried many things. We have worked out what works. My job has been to collect this experience. It is now presented in the new edition of my book. Ian Gawler's ideas and concepts have now received substantial scientific recognition and validation both in Australia and internationally. Dr Gawler who is a founder of The Gawler Foundation believes that there is a process by which the body can regain its natural state of health. He sees cancer as a symptom of immune deficiency and explains how the immune system can be reactivated.

Ian Gawler suffered from bone cancer in the late 1970's and had a leg amputated. When a few months later the tumours had spread to several other parts of his body he was given only a few months to live.

This book is a practical guide to what he learned and has done over the ensuing years.

-How to combine complementary therapies with conventional treatments. -How diet can help. -The use and practice of meditation. -The importance of positive thinking and how to generate it. -Dealing with pain. -Considering death. -Looking at the latetst theories of mind body and spirituality and how they fit his practical approaches.

The book is essentially very positive, readable and demystifying. I would strongly recommend it to all cancer sufferers and all those who would like to find a path to greater mental and physical wellness.

Inspiring 22 Mar 2010
Format:Paperback
Gawler's story is remarkable. He is honest about the placebo response and it has worked for him. It can work for you too.
Lance Armstrong's tumour was likely to be cured by chemotherapy; Gawler's was not and is one of the most heartsink tumours for the medical profession to deal with.
Straightforward story and advice. Follow it.

A must read.. 13 July 2011
By Big Al
Format:Paperback
I must say I love this book. Having spent a considerable amount of time researching the subject of alternative and complamentary cancer therapys and read many different books on the subject I found this one struck the biggest chord with myself. I was recomended the book by someone I came accross on my research who had spent time at the Gawler Foundation in Austrailia and had very high praise for the work they do there and claimed to be now cancer free after traetment with them. Ian Gawlers story itself is an amazing one and I just find his way of looking at all things concered with the subject make a lot of sense in my eyes and his fairly medical based approach to aspects of it were very interesting and made more sense to me than other books I have read on the subject. I urge anyone researching this subject for themselves or for a loved one to read this book and as many others as they can find as it has been an eye opening experence for me and my family and has had very positive impact upon our lives..
