This is a great breaks/ hip hop/ rock album.
The album starts with my favourite track of 2004 'crooked' i first heard this tune on james lavelle barcelona mix. since then it has had vocals added by Aesop Rock and is even better. Next up is 'Devil Stuff' which is a solid breaks tune, followed by the funky hip hop of 'earth'. This album goes from strength with 'we have the energy' and 'snack bar lounge' two very different tunes the first being a heavy mix of breaks and vocals, the second more chilled.
'Pearl Shot' is a mix of breaks and hip-hop which is pure class. The album rounds off with 'Restless' another great mix of breaks and hip-hop, and 'Hired goons' which Adam Freeland remixed on his fabriclive.
This is a great album and it shows evil nine's ability to make a variety of tunes, but also they're best when making breaks/hip-hop tunes such as 'crooked' and 'restless'.
If you like this album then go see them live, they are mint.
