I didn't quite know what to expect from this movie, you dont get many gay thrillers so I wasn't sure if this one was going to pull off, but it certainly did! The build up is tense and chilling at times. The film starts with Jeffrey in bed with his hot French one night stand, but when the French guy breaks it off, Jeffery decides to stalk him, eventually finding out where he lives and promptly moving in! At first we think that it is Jeffrey who is a little mentally unhinged, his obsession with the beautiful Frenchman Rene being rather worrying, but as it turns out, his new landlady is a complete fruitcake who wants to keep Jeffery trapped in the apartment forever! That was the first of many twists I didnt see coming. Another highlight is Jeffery's sassy housemate Vicki, whose character delivers the film's funniest lines, adding welcome relief between the scares. Its not surprising that this was nominated for a Tarantino scriptwriting award, it keeps you on the edge of your seat more than once. And the gorgeous Rene is another big plus! I recommend it!

What a good thriller this is, its been a while since we have one with a gay character. I recommend this totally. Sam Zalutsky is one film-maker/writer to look out for.

This isn't a bad little movie. It's got some quite good moments, the acting is totally acceptable and the actress playing the landlady was good. The idea was great and the location well choosen. But for me it lacked suspense, there were no surprises, it was mostly all given away in the trailer. There was a twist at the end, but I'd think most people would have seen it coming.
It's not a "gay movie", it's just a movie where the leading character happens to be gay. As another reviewer said, it would have worked just as well if the lead were straight. Personally I'm glad they make films like this that aren't about gay issues or themes, but just have lead characters that happen to be gay without being flamboyant.
The DVD extras amused me. I won't say I was disappointed, because I wasn't really expecting much. They had an "interview with the cast", which involved interviews only with a couple of the supporting actors and not any of the leads. Personally I couldn't get very interested in someone discussing their role as a guest at a party with a couple of lines to say. If you're going to interview the cast, you should at least feature your principal actors or not bother.
So not great, but not bad either. Nice try, but could go better on building up the suspense.
