Review

'It's something the Americans always used to do slightly better, the escaped maniac who's coming after people, and eventually catching up with them, and this one'sno slouch. Heart-stoppingly entertaining.'
--New Books Mag, March 2011

By E. Heckingbottom TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback|Amazon Vine™ Review (What's this?)
Detective Karin Schaeffer was a happily married mother until very recently ... when a close encounter with a serial killer left her alone and in deep mourning. Nicknamed `The Domino Killer' by the press (due to his habit of leaving a series of dominos as the clue to which member of the family will be his next victim) and JPP (Just Plain Psycho) by the police, Martin Price was supposed to be behind bars; but he has escaped and is on his way to Karin, to finish off what he started earlier. Karin is ready. She's already lost her husband and her daughter, and doesn't want to go on living ... until JPP tries to force a new set of dominos down her throat. Which member of her family has he targeted next? Her parents? Her brother? His wife or children? Suddenly Karin knows that she has to stay alive. She has to fight this monster before anyone else in the family suffers.

Twists and turns in the plot lead you wondering whether the story has finished early ... and where it can possibly go; however, an intriguing twist halfway through the book turns your thoughts on end and makes you think all over again.

An intriguing first book that will make great holiday reading. Enjoy!

EXCELLENT READ 6 Feb 2011
By Mrs. A. M. Chadwick VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback|Amazon Vine™ Review (What's this?)
Katia Lief's first two books have been published in the US and have now made their way other here. "You are next" is her first novel to be published in the UK.

Karin Schaeffer was a detective and also a happily married mother who lived in New Jersey that is until her life was shattered by a serial killer.

This serial killer became known as "The Domino Killer" due to the dominos he left at the murder scene which were clues to who would be killed next. He'd escaped prison and was coming after her. Karin knows he won't stop with her he'll continue till he's made more of her family suffer at his hands!

I don't want to say anything else about the story as it would spoil things for you. It's only a short book, (352 pages), compared to what I normally read.

It only took me a few hours to read as I found it to be a compulsive and enjoyable read. The author captures your interest on the first page and doesn't let up till the story ends. :-)

Personally I really enjoyed the story and characters. If your interested in fiction about serial killers then I'd recommend this book.:-)

I look forward to the second book in this series which will be printed at a later date in the UK as "Hide and Seek" and is set three years on from where her first book finishes, (In America this book has already been published as "Next Time You See Me").

By Wendy Jones TOP 1000 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback|Amazon Vine™ Review (What's this?)
Overall I enjoyed this book though it does not hold the on he edge of your seat tension that many books of tyhis genre have. It starts off well, introducing the characters and with a very surprising moment of tension at the beginning. It then goes back to the lives of the main characters and explains what had happend in Karin's past. The second part of the book where the tension should pick up does not really do so, but I still really enjoyed the book. This was probably mainly because I liked the characters and their storylines rather than as a nail biting thriller. However, I would still recommend this book as it is a pleasant read
