Received this yesterday, 1 day early from release from Gameseek. WINNING! (Pre-ordered it for around £23, much cheaper than anywhere else. Received Mario Kart 8 early with them too :) ) Just had to come on here to say AWESOME game. So fun to play. Lots of cute factor. Very detailed graphics (look amazing on our HD tv). Nice long levels. Good level of difficulty. Flowers and tokens (tokens are hidden in gems, previously red coins in other Yoshi games) have some well hidden ones. To fully complete each level, you need 5 flowers/5 yarn balls/20 tokens/full star health. This doesn't have to all be done in a one-er (eg, if you are missing 1 flower, you can return to the level and only get that 1 flower, you don't have to find all 5 again). It is easy to complete the levels, the difficulty is finding all the items (to unlock an extra level each world). There is a new 'mellow' mode, for younger/new players, which can be switched to/from normal mode at any time. You can also earn badges by collecting enough gems to prevent you falling in holes, completing the level etc for more difficult levels/beginners.

I first fell in love with Yoshi in Yoshi's Island SNES - my first ever video game at the age of 10, way back in 2006! 3DS New Yoshi's Island was almost an exact replica of this (different levels but pretty much the same features). Yoshi's Wooly World is a nice re-make of it, with some brilliant new features.

You can easily view items you've collected in each level, by selecting 'World List', by pausing while in the world map. Makes it easy to see which levels you need to go back to, to get those missed items. You have the option to change to 'b style' controls, to swap the jump/lick buttons around. I did this straight away, as I'm used to 'jump' being 'b'.

As a 36 year old man who's been playing video games since the late 1980's you wouldn't think this game would fit my type. But I've been a fan of nintendo since the snes days and platform games are one of my favorite genres. I have to say this game is great fun, it's bright, colourful and full of charm. Some may find it easy but the challenge lies in collecting all the stamps, flowers and yarn in each stage so there's plenty of replayability in finding all these items. Kids and adults a like will have a great time with this game. Well done nintendo on another worthy entry into your extrordinary catalog of fantastic games. 5 stars.

Real fun game, has a good amount of challenge but not to the point of frustration. Graphics are great and has many fun collectibles to find.

I have to say that I pre-ordered Yoshi's Woolly World for £24.54 and at first I didn't really expect a whole lot from the game but as I played more and more I began to adore everything about it, and yes, even the tedious job of finding the hidden collectibles was also somewhat fun (not always though). And yeah, the game is pretty easy (except for the final boss in the Boss Tent).

The game is basically your standard Super Mario 2.5D platformer but in this case, it's all in a knit-form world so it's all the more cuter than the normal visuals you'd get. Aside that, the gameplay is smooth and the framerate is mostly a breeze but when you get to parts that are too stuffed you'll notice that the framerate will crumble so get used to it as there's just no way around it (unless you avoid playing these stages but some are a must as they're the main).

In total there's five worlds, with an additional that unlocks after you complete the first five so a total of six. However, that's not all, after that there's also the Star-S stage which is the final-final stage and the Boss Tent is a sped-up version of the bosses you fought along the way before (not really difficult minus the last one which you need to be quicker dodging him). The music in YWW is absolutely stunning and beautiful to say the least, so I could never get enough of it but a few of them really started to annoy me with all that looping and such.

Lastly, with the amiibos you can use their costumes (as you can see below on the pictures) but those that are Pokémon it doesn't work for some reason although they might change it in the future.

Overall; It's a really great neat game which I personally clocked over 50hrs and loved it (I know I'm missing a couple of enemy statues but whatever, I'm pretty much finished with it and the 100% wouldn't make any difference now -- Edit: In order to get 100% you need to hit every type of enemy with your knit ball).

This is basically Yoshi's Island without the one thing I hate about Yoshi's Island. The levels are nice and long (if you're looking for all the collectibles) and you don't need to worry about collecting everything in one go thankfully. I'm finding the game fairly easy so far (and I am playing on classic mode without using any badges), but there's a mode that makes the game stupidly easy if you need it.

I enjoy the way collectibles are hidden (with some items being completely invisible at first), and being able to unlock new Yoshis to play with is awesome. The game supports amiibos, and apparently there are some wool Yoshi amiibos available (that are actually made out of wool), but I couldn't care less. Great game, especially if you're going for 100%.
