Pity there's no picture of this map - it's an excellent one. The scale is great for motorists/cyclists, but too small for walkers. It is a relief map, with different elevations colour coded, so it;s easy to see which dale is which - and to keep track of which one you're in! Towns on the edges of the map include Richmond, Leyburn, Ripon, Harrogate, Skipton, Ingleton Kikby Lonsdale Kirkby Stephen and Bowes. In addition to the map, there are panels of useful information on places of interst, Well worth the money for any holidaymaker or (leke me) native.

This is an excellent map of the Dales. It includes the Hills to the West, North and East rather than just the central section (as covered by most overview maps). I particularly like the fact that ALL the Hills are clearly shown along with height - not just the most well known. For instance it includes the interesting Hills to the West (in Lancashire) such as Gragareth and Crag Hill which are missing on other maps I've had. It also includes the Howgill Fells. The printing is clear and crisp. It's a good starting point for planning walks. Of course you still the need the O.S. maps for the detail but this is a great overview. Includes thumbnail maps of 10 main towns too. There's also lots of tourist information. Tom
