You get 16 small discs each weighing 0.5kg. These are fantastically useful! I am female and started strength training not too long ago. I started buying single dumbells and then dicovered transformer dumbells which allow you to change the weight by adding or removing weight discs. I like to increase weight gradually but found that I couldn't make certain weight combinations (e.g. I could make 7kg and 9kg but nothing in between) The 0.5kg therefore allow me to make various weight combinations and progress my routines gradually.
The diameter of the disc hole is apx 31mm and will fit most standard bars (both dumbell and barbells) but you should measure the diameter of your bar if you're not sure!

These are great value and very useful. For the price, with free delivery, cannot be beaten.
The quality is not 100%, some of my discs had the hammertone chipped off in places, also they are dirty and oily and needed a wipe down, But, so what. I give them 4 stars for those minor problems.
The ability to make such small adjustments, or even to pile on many of the plates, is very useful. Most dumbbells will accommodate many.
OLYMPIC STYLE micro-plates - just tie a piece of string around them, and dangle them off the olympic bar, and you can add 0.5kg increments to it. Well, 1kg increments if you are using two plates. Normal olympic micro plates cost a fortune compared to these.
I wouldn't mind buying another set.
