We have had the machine for a week, my daughter and I assembled it together and did a solid job, we were relieved when all the electronics just worked without any trouble, we took our time to assemble as we read the instructions and did not have any pieces left over!
We are all impressed by it's virtually silent running. The programs are many and varied and can be made harder, although currently we all mostly find the basics settings quite hard enough as we are not fit yet!
I don't find the computer panel as user friendly or intuative as I would have liked, it's operation is a bit messy and you can easily end up resetting everything rather than adding to data you have just achieved, but I guess ipods and Pc's have spoilt us all :-)I say that as 20 years in IT from DOS to windows so I know a clunky piece of programming when I use it.
However as for excercise, we all feel our muscles being toned by the useage this week and it does a good overall workout, although we all use a treadmill to get warmed up first and would recommend that as the X301 taxes your muscles hard and a good warm up is essential to avoid strain.
Only real complaint is the angle and positioning of the console, we are all fairly tall and we feel it should be higher, my husband being the tallest finds the fixed position reflects the light so he cannot read it very well, the ability to angle it differently would have been a big improvement.
However overall a good solid piece of equipment, no operational problems to report and none in future we all hope! Summary - Good Purchase, Good Quality and good value for money, would recommend.
UPDATE MACHINE FAULT- 3 weeks later and this item has developed a serious fault, the sealed magnetic wheel has stopped giving any resistance and I phoned YORK immediately on finding the fault. I was 5th in the phone queue but despite the wait I was quickly looked after when I finally got through. They are sending a whole new machine which I am to expect within the week. The only good news so far it that their customer service appears to be on the ball and excellent, however we do need the machine to work, so I will update again in due course.
