Review

Where most guides to yoga tend to be either a compendium of poses or an analysis of yoga principles, this volume combines both elements, managing to be comprehensive yet accessibly simple. The book starts by looking at the philosophy of yoga, associated diet and posture - along with advice on where to practise yoga; it then explains a range of postures, with clear, detailed illustrations; and moves on to suggest sequences of exercises and discuss breathing and meditation. An excellent and inspirational guide. (Kirkus UK)

Product Description

A new practical spiral-bound edition of Tara Fraser's best-selling book Yoga for You is a complete illustrated practical guide to releasing pent-up stress from your busy life, an emphasis on physical comfort and safety (working within your own abilities rather than forcing yourself into demanding postures), and the holistic approach, which combines Yoga with an appropriate lifestyle, especially with regard to diet and meditation. More than 200 step-by-step colour photographs take you through the essential asanas (postures) and sequences, accompanied by clear and simple explanations. Special "boxes" suggest how beginners can adapt the classic postures to make them easier to perform - while more experienced students are shown how to progress to more challenging asanas as they build up their skills. Whatever your level of fitness and flexibility, Yoga for You is designed to meet your needs.
