Review

'This deck of activities 'for a greener world' is divided into the elements of Air, Earth, Fire, Water and Space. Each element inspires five kinds of activities: breathing, individual and partner poses, games and action. The series also includes kiddie tips for no-waste lunches and building focus, as well as ways to use 'force and finesse' to deal with frustration.' --UrbanBaby Daily Picks

'Yoga Planet is a great way to get kids (and adults) moving, laughing and most importantly thinking about the world around them.' --Tobey Maguire

This set is very usefull in my childrensyogaclasses. I also use Yogapretzels and the children love them both. This set is for the more advanced children, i think. The cards are a good inspiration in the lessons, the explanation is clear and when a child can read, they can figure it out on their own. A good tool in my Yogalessons.

Great Intro to Yoga for Kids!!! 22 Nov 2008

What an amazing idea this set of cards is!!! Bringing together yoga with caring for the planet, it's a beautiful marriage!!!
I'm a Kids Yoga Teacher, and I teach yoga in our studio and in many schools in our area. I use the Yoga Pretzels (also by this author) Deck ALL THE TIME as a teaching tool. And now that I have these, I will use them to supplement the Yoga Pretzels.
This deck has some additional yoga poses and games that are not in the Yoga Pretzels Deck. In fact, I belive there are no duplicate cards.
I really like the way this deck is divided into the five elements: Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space with yoga poses and activities to correspond with each element. There are traditional yoga poses like Bow Pose, and some partner poses as well. Even some ideas on ways to green up the planet.
Genius!!
I have MANY decks of Yoga Planet and Yoga Pretzels and give them as gifts to all the children I know!! I give them as gifts to schools too!!!!
Namaste!!

Yoga for Kids and Parents. 12 April 2009
By Steven - Published on Amazon.com

Yoga Planet Deck (Yoga Cards)
Yoga Planet is a collection of 50 cards, each with a simple activity or exercise that will help you incorporate yoga into daily life for yourself and for your children. The cards are divided into groups based on the elements of Air, Earth, Fire, Water and Space. Each of the elements is intended to inspire you in a different way:

Air - breathe to calm, focus and nurture yourself
Earth - build a foundation of strength
Fire - become inspired with passion and conviction
Water - be soothed and refreshed
Space - find time to unwind and think

For each individual element, the cards propose five different types of activity: Breathing, Individual Poses, Partner Poses, Games, and Inspired Action.

Yoga Planet is a very useful supplement to books such as My Daddy is a Pretzel, but its worth goes beyond teaching children who are already open to yoga. These activities provide a way for even children who may be resistant to the idea of yoga to reap its benefits. Children learn best in an immersive environment, and often do best when they do not even realize that they are learning. A child who shows no interest in Individual Poses may be willing to be lifted onto daddy's back to try a fun Partner Pose like The Knapsack. Carrying a cup of water around an obstacle course in a Game like Go With the Flow can painlessly motivate a child to learn how to move their body smoothly and carefully. And Inspired Actions like a Secret Mission to do a good deed can integrate the values and principles of yoga into a child's life even if they never do a single pose. Yoga Planet is an ideal tool for bringing yoga into a child's life in a natural and unstructured way, and can even do the same for busy dads as well!

Yoga Planet 11 Feb 2009
By Michelle F. Anderson - Published on Amazon.com

This is a great follow up to the Yoga Pretzels Deck. I love the environmental theme that runs through it. The organization by what I believe are Auyervedic elements (Earth, Air, Fire, Space and Water) is a nice touch. It makes it take a little longer to find a balance pose vs. a breath to practice but it also adds another layer to your practice. My students are really enjoying it so far! The Laughing Circle and Appreciation Circle were a lot of fun. I did the Laughing Circle with 2nd-4th graders and the Appreciation Circle with K-1 students.
