I've been out of yoga practice for a little while so I'm a reviewing this as a 'beginner' in terms of strength if not technique.

- If you need advice on yoga postures this isn't really for you, as the postures aren't described in detail and key points of posture are not addressed.
- If you like a quiet yoga routine you may find Jillians constant talking to be annoying.
- Modifications are not always shown or mentioned until you are in the pose (conversely additions to the poses are also not shown till in the pose) - This is course depends on you - whether you prefer to watch a dvd through before having a go or jump straight in like me.

+ The routines are fairly well balanced and will push most beginners, especially in terms of working the upper body where most women tend to be weaker.
+ Easy to follow and fit in to your day at approximately 30minutes each

I think of this as a relaxing toning/stretching WORKOUT rather than a yoga practice. It's a decent effort.

You may not drop 5lbs in a week or be dripping in sweat unless you're working out in a warm room but it will improve overall muscle tone and raise your heart rate.

I'm already a big fan of all the other Jillian workout dvd's, so i wanted to get this yoga one, to have a "lighter one" for days when i might not feel like working up a sweat.
Boy was i wrong! I always thought that yoga was easy. Well, not Jillian's yoga. It's tough, and you will sweat!
But... I love it.

As a 47 year old male, I suffer from intermittent sciatica, which causes me considerable lower back pain and discomfort, radiating down the right leg. My doctor's had me on strong painkillers including Diclofenac and Naproxen, referred me to physiotherapy, and suggested that I try yoga or Pilates. This medical advice resulted in my purchase of this DVD.
Jillian Michaels gives two 30 minute yoga workouts, Level 1 is for novices, and Level 2 takes things up a notch.
Level 1 has a fairly gentle pace as Jillian takes you through a wide-ranging group of positions and holds, including the power pose, cobra pose, down dog position, crescent pose, chaturanga, mountain, dive down fold, back extension and the plank with push ups (which is a bit more challenging), etc. You start off with a very gentle warm up, and at the end of the 30 minute session (which I find flashes by), Jillian takes you through a sensible cool down routine.
This workout very effectively exercises your abdominals, biceps, buttocks and thighs, etc. It's a highly comprehensive all-round cardio exercise routine, which is not so challenging as to be punishing, but definitely lively enough to get the heart rate up and have you sweating. If you can run 2 miles or more continuously, I think that you'd probably be fit enough to cope with this workout without any trouble. If you can run 1 mile or more continuously, I think that you'd still be okay to follow the workout. If a 1 mile run is beyond you, you might want to start off by following this routine for perhaps 5 to 15 minutes at a time.
The 30 minute Level 2 workout starts off with a warm up session.

Yoga but Jillian style!

This is not an easy workout, however it's not killer like her others.

Does make you sweat as it's serious strength work but there's not really any cardio in it. I burned about 190 calories on level 1.

I have a knee injury at the moment so have been doing this DVD as it's lighter and less impact. Have really enjoyed it though. Nice change up to do something different.

Liked it a lot but it is rather high intensity for me to follow fully. I have bought almost all her videos and they are all high intensity. Sadly I am not there yet. However it would be useful to someone who has more energy than me. Having said that you create energy by doing intense work out. A bit of a chicken and egg situation..

Totally brilliant workout. I never thought i'd find it, but here it is. Though one needs a dvd player that plays US dvd. I was a big fan of Davina's work outs,Ministry of sound's, they are all still great, but now this one is on top of myf fav list. its a yoga+aerobics, so you get the benefit of yoga asanas with cardio. perfect if you dont like typical boring yoga dvd's with uncarismatic teachers. Jilian is great!

Struggled to do the exercises, when it comes to yoga you really need to be watching the screen the whole time, a bit tricky with many of the positions, have given up on this one.
Also, it's Region 1 but for some reason out of all the multi-region players in the house, the oldest one is the only machine that will read the DVD.
