5.0 out of 5 stars It's great (if it's right for you) 18 Aug 2009
This is a good yoga basics DVD that will be especially helpful to people who want to spend a bit of time getting poses and alignments right alongside a weekly yoga class. Priced cheaper than going to a class at my local leisure centre, it's very good value.

The DVD starts with a session on relaxation and alignment, which is very pleasant and well explained, setting you up for the rest of the session before going into Sun Salutations in more detail, and then other postures. I've found this very helpful because the class that I go to runs through the Sun Salutations rather quickly.

Unlike other yoga DVDs, I have not found the conversation or music grating, and the background scenery (presumably somewhere like Ibiza) is really very pleasant. The choice of postures is also nice.

It's been great for me (still very much a beginner despite having attended some classes) but it might need some careful watching at the start from someone totally new to the subject.

5.0 out of 5 stars simple yet effective 25 July 2009
Yoga For Beginners really is simple but effective, There are two 25 min workouts so you can choose one or both depending on your needs and time. Both are simple to follow and I found Desi Bartlett to be a great instructor, not flashy and to hard core or annoying.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not for beginners 19 Dec 2009
I was quite disappointed with this. It went straight into a yoga routine which I found difficult to follow. There were no instructions on how you should hold the poses. I think it would be a good DVD for anyone who already knows a reasonable amount about yoga
