I must admit that I bought this on a whim, having not read any reviews on here. What really decided me was Aya Matsuura in a schoolgirl costume on the cover, I didn't know if it was going to be comical or just action packed. Watching it I found that it was neither, but still very good despite that. Why this has caused such a difference of opinion amongst people is possibly the title, and the fact that it isn't necessarily what you would expect in a Japanese film. Lets be honest, people wouldn't go on so much about it being bad if it was French.
Our heroine is recruited by a police intelligence agency to infiltrate a school and find out why the children are blowing themselves up. They are also aware that these children have often logged onto the website Enola Gay (a reference to the plane that dropped the Bomb on Hiroshima) and that they are showing that something will happen in three days time. Our heroine is eqiupped with a yo-yo, mobile phone and fake identity, as well as a school uniform.
Infiltrating the school she soon finds that there is an institutional blindness to bullying and that at least one pupil is self harming. As she delves deeper she finds that the pupils are being exploited, willingly and otherwise to cause mayhem. But who is ultimately behind it? And is there an ulterior motive?
With some martial arts action with a yo-yo this film highlights the effects of bullying and how it can affect people. In places slow moving, as well as a couple of bloopers, this film is still well worth watching, but don't expect something that will be an all out action movie. Included on this dvd are extras, including interviews with the cast and crew.
