This is the second live Yes album.
Following on from the mammoth Yessongs live set this covers Yes from Relayer to Tormato.
The sound quality is brilliant and the tracks, though few in number, provide a taste of Yes in concert.
From the opening track, Parallels, you get a taste of Yes in full flow and near the height of their powers. I have also felt that listening to Yes live is better than Yes in the studio. Their sound seems to be more "alive" and fuller in concert than on most of their records, especially those from the early 70's.
Even Ritual, the best track from the over indulgent Topographic Oceans album, sounds far better live.
The best thing about this offering is that you do not get the solo items that were a big part of Yessongs but just the full ensemble tracks.
You also get to judge Patrick Moraz's keyboard sounds against those of Rick Wakeman. You decide which you prefer....
Well worth the cost to purchase a superb live album. One to recommend to fans and new comers.

Yes at the peak of their powers in the mid - late 70s. The playing is awesome - particularly Steve Howe's guitar work and Rick Wakeman's key boards.

A really great live album from a really great band. maybe not as good as Yessongs but a must have for the live "Gates of Delirium" and "Ritual".

Another very good YES album from my early years. An excellent album but I prefer the rawer energy and sound of YESSONGS. The quality is much better on this sleeker production than Yessongs, good value for money all the same.

Approach with caution, this is NOT the version with bonus tracks, despite Amazon claiming it is. However the missing tracks ( I've seen all good people and Roundabout) have been release before on the 'Classic Yes' release. You may well have versions of them on Yessongs, Keys to Ascension, House of Blues and Tsongas, so a fifth version may not be a great loss.
The songs that are included? Well it is Yes in all their pomp and glory, and includes a truly wonderful version of the Gates of Delirium. What more do you need to know?

YES, raw, loud and live! The only way to listen to them! Send your family away for the weekend, warn the neighbours and turn this up!! The whole album is about individual artistes coming together and trying to outdo each other with some bonecrunching solos. From the pulsating opening track 'Parallels' (I bought it for this alone!) you know you're going to be moved. With some fantastic efforts from Steve Howe and Rick Wakeman on this track alone, you know you're in for a treat. 'The Gates Of Delirium' and 'Ritual' build to such a crescendo that my bass speakers nearly gave up! Then there's Jon Anderson, calming everything down with his piercing lyrics, especially on 'Time and a Word' and 'Nous Sommes Du Soleil'. Originally produced in 1980 this CD has been digitally remastered and produces fine sound quality. Oh, stop reading this and just go and BUY IT!!!
