Imagine Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" if he hadn't toured the world, in a big private jet, polluting the world he was desperately trying to save. Then put some more funny bits in it and you have some idea how morally imperative this horribly under-rated film is!
The most powerful segment of this film for me shows how the Yes Men self-financed the print of 100,000 mock-up copies of the New York Times, dated 6 months in the future and gave them out to early morning commuters in the city of Manhattan. This 'special edition' detailed fictional achievements including a military withdrawal from Iraq and massive environmental investments by the world's biggest polluters. So believable were these achievements that it's readers were reduced to tears, realising how obtainable these potential realities could be achieved if the powerful few had a notion to make it so.

BUY IT, WATCH IT, LEARN FROM IT, ( "don't" copy it, "don't" distribute it) LOVE IT.

Come on lads, let's give it a go.

Wow. I saw this documentary the other day, and was blown away by it. I can't recall a single instant where I wasn't trying to decide whether to laugh, cry or be shocked by what I was witnessing. I was really rooting for the two activists, Andy and Mike, but at the same time I was really taken aback by their audacity and determination in their attempts to unearth some of the most cruel deceptions and corporate swindles of recent times. And they do all this, most of the time, just by impersonating 'important' people.

Their aims are noble - to highlight the damage caused to the everyday people, the ones who are always made to suffer for the errors, lack of oversight and sheer arrogance of governments and global corporations. While showcasing the plight of the little guy, this film also serves another purpose: quite powerfully, it shows us just how gullible, corrupt and shameless some of our elected representatives can really be, and why the public may be best advised to consider if they can't represent themselves better.

To say that this revealing and gob-smacking film has been overlooked is a massive understatement, and quite simply it deserves greater recognition. It's a hard-hitting documentary, and a good afternoon's light-hearted entertainment to boot. In one moment, you're marveling at the comedic genius behind their latest prank, but in the next you're chilled to the bone at how easily some things can be swept under the carpet, with enough media silence and enough money changing hands. You'd be a fool to miss it :)

Hmm....
What can I say. I think the idea is (mostly) genius! but very bitter/sweet and at the end of it, it may even leave you using your imagination quite differently.

Brilliantly witty with a touch of take the bulls by the horn. These guys have no qualms about finding themselves in "squirm when you watch it" situations and are masterminds behind their ability to let the world see what money hungry corporations get up to. I really wish more of us were able to follow in their footsteps and I hope that they keep publishing their work for a long, long time as I will watch everything they do. Converted fan.

This is a clever and entertaining form of investigative journalism. It has a feel good factor about it that makes me optimistic that the behaviour of the GGGs (greedy global gits) is coming more into the spotlight and maybe the world it is a changing.
