Best Golf Book 6 Jan. 2009
By D.E.E. - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
Without a doubt, simply the best golf instructional book I have ever read (even better than Hogan's classic). If you have friends who are true and avid golfers, there is probably no better gift you can give them than perhaps a dozen new Pro-V1s.

More Golfers Will Want to Learn From This Master 2 Jun. 2006
By rodboomboom - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
Harmon, Haney, Leadbetter, Nicklaus, Olathabal, etc. know that Jacobs is one of the greatest golf teachers of all time. So, the golfer who is interested in better swing and game will find this collected wisdom both informative and great read.

As said, this is collected from his previous books, both instructional and antecdotal. From either the viewpoint of those who have some of these, or none, this is definitely one of those got to have books for one's golf libraries.

Jacobs is known for bringing simplicity, yet results from his instruction, all tied to his brilliant breakthrough of ball flight.

I love his stories, they are classic and insightful.

His cut away all the unnecessary detail and providing understandable cause and reaction, one gets what one needs for greater golfing results and enjoyment.

Can't recommend this fine tribute to one of golf's all time best instructors, not to mention a fine competitive golfer himself. As Bernard Gallacher was attracted to him was, so should we, he was too busy being hounded for advice rather than honing his own game.

Solid instructional book 16 May 2012
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
John Jacobs provides a solid instructional book. Many instructors fall into either an arm driven or (more popular) body driven swing. While body driven instructors put Jacobs in the arm driven swing category, I believe he's really exactly in the middle. He believes that both are required in the appropriate measure.

A big bonus is his sections on troubleshooting on the course (including how lie, slope and club will affect shot direction and shape) and the fixs/faults section. The fixs/faults section is an abbreviated version of his Golf Doctor book, but just as good and a little more simplified (for the better). Technical swing mechanists will find fault with some of the physics of his explanations, but his fixes are based on years of experience and have worked for me.
Wonderful practical book 24 Oct. 2012

This book is the distilled instruction knowledge from one of the best teachers and players of the game.

Very unique approach to teaching as it simplifies the whole process for all of us wanting to play better.

This man has taught thousands of golfers and he knows what works and what doesn't work. Read it very carefully and then reread to get the real

Stick with this book and you may not need any other instructional literature ever again in your library.

Even more interesting, it's done without images which is very unique for a golf instruction book. Thx, Jim
