Jay Morgan journeys to Mexico to track down the father he has never seen. As he travels further south, encountering many colourful characters, a progressively sinister impression of his father emerges. Is he a thief, a smuggler, a murderer even?

5.0 out of 5 stars READ THIS BOOK, 12 Feb 2005
This review is from: Year of the Jaguar (Paperback)
From start to finish this book takes you on a journey through all elements of Mexico. Maw and his partner have no set itinery and go wherever they need to find the father he has never met. As the story unfolds relationships are strained as the search grows ever closer. From holiday resorts to the remote Jungles of southern Mexico, this book takes you there throughout. A top read with some very unexpected twists. I recommend to anyone.

4.0 out of 5 stars great fun!, 12 Jul 2002
By Matt (Oxford) - See all my reviews
a really good read. Anyone who has visited (or is planning to visit) Central or South America will appreciate the apathy, recognise the disorder and love the charm. The people and the area are sensitively represented and form a faithful backdrop to an entertaining and nicely paced plot. Definitely one to pack for holiday reading.
