I thought this was a salacious trip down memory lane. The scenes recounted were every bit as arousing as they had been the first time I read them in the stories they came from. Ms. Yamila's erotic style is so graphic and detailed, you literally think its you being fondled in the scene - and that's even if the romances depicted in her stories are between two men. While Yaoi is my guilty pleasure - I've often wondered why this author doesn't branch out into straight erotica, she's that talented.
Anyway, I only have one complaint about this compilation and its the prime reason I gave this book four-stars instead of the five I would have and that's because of the scene she decided to include from her kick-ass Incubus Master serial (It is the series that put me on Ms. Yamila and with the exception of Maelstrom, nothing she has put out since has come even close - and I say that respectfully because even still, the woman hasn't written a bad story yet). She chose to include the scene in the very beginning of the series between sweet Jinady and Omni - the first incubus that kidnapped him.
I'm the ultimate Scor fan! I mean, I absolutely, LOVED, him. If you've never read the Incubus Master series, then you probably wouldn't understand the fascination. But if you have read it, then you would agree that Scor was the most provocative and sexy character in the whole series. He was the rebel and bad boy and I always reread the erotic scenes with him in it because he was just so f-ing sexy. So for him not to get an honorable mention in this compilation was a supreme letdown for me. However, I will admit with a grudge that this is vol. 1 in the compilation so I sincerely hope that Scor ends up in the next.
Also, on a lesser note, the scene from Royal Pain wasn't my favorite. That series hadn't been my overall favorite, but I did enjoy the Bastard King spin-off. I would have rather read a scene from that, personally.
In any case, this was only 99 cents and I can't remember the last erotic story I've read within this price range that was written with as much taste as Ms. Yamila does her yaoi. I think this book is a wonderful way to spark the interest of those who might not have read any of the parent stories the erotic scenes came from before.
If you are a true Yamila fan, purchasing this one is a no-brainer.
