I was looking for a book on Indian recipes by the same author and ended up buying this cheaper one, which is inspired by Indian cuisine but is a bit 'fusion'. I wanted to have recipes which do not include garlic or onions, which I cannot eat, and the recipes in this book do this precisely. Unfortunately they contain a lot of chili peppers, which I cannot have either, but I will try to make suitable changes. A slight disadvantage is the use of American cups.

Great tasting, healthy vegetarian receipes. 17 Oct. 1998
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
A very good book, especially for making quick, healthy and great tasting vegetarian food. Recipes in her other book, 'Lord Krishna's Cuisine' I thought was not as healthy, they called for too much of ghee (fat).

tasty! 19 Jan. 2003
By merrymousies - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
One thing I really like about this book is the seasonal menu suggestions at the back. There's one for summer, winter, fall, spring. In addition to that though the recipes are great - some really good bean dishes and some new approaches to some old dishes - like the brown basmati moussaka. Lots of fun twists but nothing that woulkd make you question whether the dish will taste good once it's done or not.

Indian Cooking 18 Nov. 2010

I love this cookbook. So many of the dishes are perfect for a crowd, or can be portioned and frozen for later. For variety one can substitute different vegetables for the same dish and have it come out successfully.

With over 200 vegetarian recipes, "Yamuna's Table" combines the flavors of India with our contemporary need for light, healthy, vibrantly flavored foods. This book combines an original culinary vision with a tremendous knowledge of food to create a cuisine that is truly a flavor celebration.

Yamuna has won awards for this and previous cookbooks, and is considered a specialist and authority in Indian vegetarian cooking.

have only done one recipe from this book, and that was a bit more work than i had expected only because i had decided to double the recipe to have extra for the family, It was a verrrry tasty recipe. will do another recipe and will proably double that too for potluck at my church. If asked to review that recipe also after potluck i will try to do this again, to let you all know how it turned out. If everyone liked it.
