5.0 out of 5 stars Yamaha PSR-E434 Keyboard 12 Nov 2013
By Thomas

The sound is really great! The grand piano option is especially good. I really enjoy the various stored effects and accompaniments. The keyboard "feel" is just right for practice. I bought a sustain pedal. This should ideally be part of the original pack.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for a learner 16 Oct 2013
Verified Purchase
This is a great keyboard and whilst I have nothing modern to compare it to, the keyboards I had in the early 90's make this one seem delightful to use. I particularly like the option to learn chords or whole pieces of music and found I lost an enitre evening learning one piece of music.

The weight of the keyboard is non-existent, which helps if you have to transport it, yet the sound and the sensitivity of the keys is fantastic.

Lots of options, probably too many for me, but my boys love the demos and the various intruments and sound effects.

I doubt I am ever going to perform in front of anyone, but if I had to I am sure this would suit an audience.

I shopped around for this keyboard and read all reviews. This is an excellent keyboard for someone learning as well as someone who can play. The keys are pressured and the piano function sounds very authentic. There is a tuition programme with adjustable times on it which is easy to understand and taxing to learn - ideal. This has been excellent for our family and I would recommend to anyone looking for a good keyboard to learn on.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ideal for beginners 28 Dec 2013
Verified Purchase
I wanted to learn to play the piano and my husband wanted to try playing keyboard. This seems to be the cheapest Yamaha that has touch sensitive keys so we thought it would be a good one to start with. We both find it excellent. The grand piano voice is quite convincing and I also like the bright piano and honky tonk voices. I think this model will be fine for us for a long time although I will need to buy a sustain pedal for playing it as a piano. It is extremely light and could easily be stored in a cupboard or stood up in a corner.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing 28 Mar 2014

Excellent buy. It sounds great, it's got many functions, love the touch sensitivity (it can be turned off, anyway). Another plus to consider, the display is back lighted, unlike lower models.
Mind you, it's still an entry level keyboard for beginners, which I am.

Amazon service is always very impressive. Extremely competitive price, unreal delivery service: it arrived on the 3rd day from the order placement, and I live in Italy !

Mostly recommended, thanks for reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars All round excellent keyboard 8 April 2014

I bought this to start playing the piano again after not having touched one for many years. It's easy to set up, and obviously takes up much less room than a real piano. There are all the different "styles" and "voices" if you want them, and it's quite fun to experiment. Certainly worth the money.
