5.0 out of 5 stars Great Buy! 5 Mar 2007
Having spent hours trawling through various music shops looking for the right keyboard, I finally found this one. I find it very easy to use, and it comes complete with a song book full of familiar tunes. It also has a small, but handy, screen which allows you to see which notes you are playing.

One of the most useful features I found on the Yamaha was the chord dictionary, which shows you the notes to play for any particular chord at the touch of a key. It also has a teaching facility which allows you to work at either hand of one of the preset tunes on the keyboard (the sheet music to which is in the song book that comes with the keyboard).

This is an ideal keyboard for beginners, even though my mother, who is a very experienced pianist, enjoyed knocking out the odd tune on it! I consider this keyboard excellent value for money and I would recommend it to anyone!

This was bought for my daughter who has just started taking lessons. I would recommend it as a sensible starting point for anyone who wants to learn to play the piano.

There is an extensive set of songs pre-stored in the memory. The self teaching feature will have you playing in a short time if you just want to memorise a few tunes.

The only negative comment from my daughter is that the keys are easier to press than on a real piano. I find this acceptable given the price of this keyboard.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent piece of kit for its price 17 April 2010
Awesome keyboard although the keys are delicate to touch makes for easy to do to chords at once has over 8 channels all at once its amazing keyboard and i love it :) im trying to play the theme tune to starlight zone sheet music which i can do chords but the bass needs playing to which involves multitasking the keyboard has an LCD sccreen to show notes easy for sheet music. In order to get the full potential out of this keyboard requires multitasking which im slowly learning this keyboard is between beginner and intermediate and given so many choices of sounds and tunes it can turn novice players into pros playing on it 4 hours a day excellent value for money if you want a keyboard for starting and moving up to professional synthesizers you must buy this you wont be disappointed.

pros: 8+ channels, array of sounds, easy to learn, lcd screen shows notes, stylish and cheap.

cons: requires multitasking on certain songs, does not have letters A B C on keys "although you can do put stickers on it yourself".

3.0 out of 5 stars Arrived with horrible packaging 11 July 2013

There was what I can only assume to be dog hair everywhere. There was a nasty old blanket being used as stuffing in the package as well. The keyboard works decently enough though.
