Superior Sound Quality
The PDX50 delivers much better sound quality than other wireless systems. This is because unlike systems that use Bluetooth to send compressed data, the PDX50 uses Air Wired technology to send uncompressed data with no loss of quality from the original recording at all.
Perfect Sound Syncing with Movies & Games
Both Bluetooth and WiFi systems transmit data with a delay meaning that when you watch movies or play games on your iPod, the sound is not synched to the images. The PDX50 features real-time signal transmission so movies and games look and sound natural which makes using these iPod/iPhone features a pleasure. Sit where you are most comfortable and play or listen as you want too.
Simple Convenient Operation
The PDX50 needs no pairing with the base unit (unlike Bluetooth) - simply plug in the transmitter and away you go. In addition, when you you turn the iPod on and off, the speaker unit turns on and off to save power consuption. You can also adjust the volume of the speaker from the iPod volume control - with most other wireless systems you have to adjust the volume on the speaker base unit. Because of all this you can put the speaker unit anywhere - up on a shelf, on a book case or in an out-of-the-way corner. The iPod or iPhone connects to the transmitter which is so compact you can carry it around anywhere. You can also set the transmitter (with the iPod) in the cradle horizontally on your desk or table for watching videos without having to hold the unit. When in the cradle the iPod/iPhone is charged.

Light Weight Big Sound. Easy Setup,

Had been looking for a Sony giga juke box style player but then saw this. Hadn't been too impressed with display on hard disk systems i had seen, and everyone in the house has and is used to IPODs. This is great, unpacked and working in a couple of minutes. Plug in the base unit, attached IPOD to transmitter, selected track and off it went. Sounds crisp and clear, though we are decorating at the moment, so the house is a little echoy.
Being able to change track/playlist/artist/album and volume all from the Ipod is ideal solution for us, base unit will sit in dining room and we can control it from any roon downstairs it seems. So you can sit in the comfort of an armchair and control the music. I do sometimes get a break in the wireless connection (so music stops) as I move with the Ipod from one room to another, but as soon as you put Ipod down it links back quickly. Overall great systems, maybe not top notch sound quality, but better than many others and simple to set up and use.

Hi, I have never left a review on Amazon before but am so impressed with this product that I felt the need to share my views.
Ok, first off the main box. Looks good, not too heavy but still sounds pretty good. It's never going to sound as good as a Bose system or similer but it still sounds bloody good for the money, I'd go as far as to say best in class for the £140 odd I paid for it. The Dock. My iPhone 3GS charges when docked (ideal as I use the dock as a cradle over night). Plastic feels a little cheap if I'm honest but not too bad. The dock part that fits onto your ipod or iPhone has a handy screw type thing on the back that pushes against the ipod/iphone and helps keep it secure - very handy. I use the system in my bedroom, works great as an alarm clock, the iphone alarm tune comes through the speaker. Also I use my iPhone with an internet radio to listen to DAB, the PDX-50 is great for this too!! Amazon delivery? Fantasic. I ordered it on Saturday and it arrived Monday!! Well packaged like all Amazon products. Overall I would highly recommend the product, I love the Yamaha quality (I have a surround sound system from Yamaha too) and the funtionality, i'll probably by another one of these for the kitchen too. Many thanks Amazon, Matt

Bland looks, but great sound and functionality!,

I bought this six months ago and disliked the way it looked even before I bought it. However I was pursuaded to buy it by the almost unique wireless functionality and Yamaha's great reputation for sound. Six months later I love the product and happily recommend it to friends and family, although I still think it's pretty ugly.
Plus points: - Really great sound that can fill a medium-sized room - Robust wireless functionality - Quick and simple setup - The most intuitive remote you'll find i.e. your iPod - Small enough to be discretely hidden away, leaving only the charging station and iPod+Wireless connector on display - Works really well with streaming music (e.g. Spotify) and Internet Radio (e.g. TuneIn Radio) apps, as well as iTunes Minor niggles: - The Wireless connector feels a little flimsy - Adjusting the sound using the buttons on the speaker doc (rather than the iPod) sometimes leads to the doc trying to override your desired speaker volume. Adjusting the volume again usually fixes this though. - If you're planning to use this in a kitchen (like I do) you'll probably find that the music cuts out when you use a Microwave (no surprise really). However it usually resumes when the Microwave stops. Overall, great product and thoroughly recommended!
