Product Description

Quality, value and playability have never been better than on these new entry-level FG dreadnoughts. Choose from matt (FG403MS) or gloss (FG403S) finishes - both featuring sound-enhancing solid spruce tops. Yamaha has a policy of continual improvement for its guitars, and the latest FG range is the best ever. Like all the new models, the matt-finish FG403MS and gloss-lacquered FG403S benefit from solid tops, thinner back-and-side laminates and lighter finishes, meaning the sweet and sparkling trademark FG sound is now even richer and more dynamic. The necks are fashioned to a new, shallower profile for enhanced playing comfort and slickness. Even on these starter models, the specification includes a bound fingerboard and high-quality die-cast tuners, so value for money is superb. Top: Solid spruce Back & sides: Nato Neck: Nato Fingerboard: Rosewood Bridge: Rosewood Body depth: 100-118mm (3.93?-4.64?) Scale length: 650mm (25.59?) Tuning machines: Diecast chrome Finish: Matt natural (MS), gloss natural (S) Yamaha acoustics have been best sellers around the world for over 35 years, ever since the introduction in the mid-60s of the FG dreadnoughts which were both affordable and high quality, quickly earning a reputation for sound excellence. The FGs, recently upgraded, continue to be an important part of Yamaha?s catalogue, which today offers much else besides, including a number of fine-sounding electro-acoustics. Whether it?s the full-size DW dreadnoughts, the traditionally-styled, folk-bodied FPXs, a selection of budget F-series and School instruments or the CJ/CJX Country Jumbos, there?s something for all tastes and musical styles. And quality and value for money are never less than superb. Learn more about guitars...

(I'm a not a dealer or have any links to any finacial interest in these instruments) But I just have to say what fantastic guitars these are. Playability is as good as any acoustic, sound is beyond anything at even 3 three/four/five times the price. I have some very top end acoustics and this Yamaha MS sits there and holds its own at almost next to nothing in cost. Its unbelievable. If your looking for a sub £1000 acoustic this is the one to go for, I love it. Twanger

excellent quality for the price. good tones yet very lightweight construction. body is medium size (i.e. not dreadnought proportions, easy to handle). strings good for out of the factory budget kit. action pretty good but had to have 'nut' (i.e. the string guide/bridge at the tuning end of the neck) lowered as string depression at fret 1 was a bit deep for my old fingers...but only costs a few quid at my local guitar shop. Thats the only reason for 4 stars. Having not played for nearly 30 years it has been a really pleasurable re-introduction to the guitar. suggest getting a good case as the lightweight body probably wouldn't take too much impact....but that's a guess.

btw if you are near bromley kent Unisound is a great little guitar shop..not least cos he thought my guitar a nice piece of kit..perhaps he says that to everyone....but very nice chap who knows his stuff and will spend time with you.

Very well set up and played nicely straight out of the box. The sound is clear and well balanced with none of the 'tinniness' sometimes present in cheaper instruments. The build quality really blew me away, nice binding, tight neck joint (no gaps), no extraneous bits of glue anywhere, well finished frets, and smoothly operating tuners. It boasts a stika spruce top, nato body and neck (a cheaper substitute for mahogany), and a rosewood fingerboard. The neck profile is just right for me, and overall the instrument looks and sounds like one costing twice as much. Overall it's very difficult to fault a very playable nice sounding solid spruce top acoustic guitar costing less than £[].

Have played in the past, and wanted to get back in the groove, but not spend a fortune.
Read the reviews on this guitar - and not disappointed. Really good feel and lovely sound.

And for the price - quality product!

Got the usual sore beginners fingers as not been able to put it down!
