    (REAL NAME)
I bought the Yamada player because I wasn't happy with the expensive Momitsu player I had, and wanted something that can play pretty much anything I throw at it - the Yamada topped the list for compatability and features. It can be easily made multi-region with a remote hack, and happily plays PAL/NTSC discs, and mp3/divx - and most importantly for me the superior music format OGG vorbis.

The unit is a very nicely engineered piece of kit, fitting all its features into a body that's barely 2cm high (about half the height of most dvd players). The software is great, with very easy to use menus and all the options you can think of. A firware upgrade adds longer filename support, which makes navigating discs easier (still only 14 characters though).

My one complaint with the unit would be that mp3 files don't seem to have quite as much weight when played on the Yamada as on my Momitsu - perhaps lacking a little bass depth. That might not be the player's fault entirely though (perhaps down to interconnects or something?).

Apart from this reservation, I really have nothing bad to say about the player - it does a lot, and does it well, takes up little room doing it and isn't going to damage your wallet as much as many players with far less features and usability.
