Having purchased the product as a competent DIY'er I have had issues with the siren as most complaints about this product seem to be about. However, the funny part is, having just purchased an additional 5 window/door contacts to install in my upstairs rooms, no more than 10 meters away, all with good batteries, they appear out of range - so the 30 meter claim is nonsense! What is even better is that contact support by telephone on 25th November 2010 and they are now closed for Christmas and New Year!!! A full month before Christmas!!! What a joke!

People, be aware that this product is a short lasting product - 6 months. Without warning it dies on you. Firstly the power adaptor goes and then it takes the unit out. But the best thing is, Yale customer support, send you a pre-paid label for you to return the product. That's the last time you will ever see it. 6 months later after numerous queries, they finally respond through an apologetic customer support manager, who asks for your address and he will dispatch replacements immediately. 2 months later - no product. So after writing to all concerned, the very same person responds with the same earlier mail, again asking for your address.

Yale do not have a telephone helpline anymore if you have any problems or questions, just a website form which they do not appear to answer! Avoid avoid avoid!
