OK so I must admit that i am having to eat my words. I have often felt that Hillsongs have been more about style than content. Dont get me wrong they do what they do brilliantly & for the last 10 years have helped to lead the church & church muscians into a more professional place by being out there in front showing what you can do. Let me also say that some of the modern Churches best loved songs & songwriters have also come from this stable.
The problem has been (in my opinion) that the albums released appear to be from big worship concerts, most people have never been in or seen these events but Gods presence & blessing have been wonderfully upon them.
So to this newish recording. All i can say is it is Intimate, the songs are stripped back, the Vocals are lovely but never overpower the congregation singing with them. As always the musicianship is excellant, If you get the DVD as well or watch on Utube you can see how thoughtfull everything is. For an old fuddy duddy it is the way things should be, no hype, the songs & craft sing for themselves. I would recomend it for everthing from personal worship, house groups & Worship services, the arrangements give great guidance to Worship leaders of what you can do & that you do not have to fill a stage with people to create a great sound. True Worship is about people engaging with their God, not Hype.....
This is One of the best Worship Albums of 2010 no doubt. Hillsongs should be proud of it, because if i was involved with it, i would be. Please, please, please more Like this.
