5.0 out of 5 stars My Favorite Album, 16 Jan 2001
By Christie Stoner - Published on Amazon.com

I wasn't quite sure what I was getting when I bought this CD, but I sure am glad I did! The intro drumming is amazing (I like to play that part over and over and over...). The songs move on to show influences from pop, disco, and of course traditional. These songs DO NOT all sound alike! I like the modern feel that is added without taking away from the traditional drum rythms. I would consider this a staple for anyone who is trying to build a collection of Middle Eastern, pop, or World music. (Bellydancers, this is a must for performance and practice!)

4.0 out of 5 stars pretty good, but not at the very top of my Arab collection, 25 Sep 2001
By M. H. Bayliss "book queen" - Published on Amazon.com

I don't mean to insult this CD because it's really catchy and almost every song is good, but I had to give it 4 stars since so many other recent CD's (including Putumayo's Arabic Groove) have been a bit more uniformly strong throughout. It may be my own personal taste -- this CD is a bit more pop sounding and I tend to like the more traditional sounding music. Still, it's great to bounce around to in the car. I love Arabic music and this is a worthy edition to your collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Refreshing, 16 May 2001
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com

This is such a nice break from what other Egyptian artists are doing. Amr Diab has lost all sense of what is good and the Rai artists are starting to sound alike. I haven't heard anything this refreshing since Khaled's "Sahra" when it was new. Definitely a must buy for anyone interested or already into middle eastern rhythms.
