I bought this little book and it's companion book covering the actual course notes. They were the latest publications I could find covering this subject so hoped they would be the best. The course notes book is very good. Precise, accurate and covers all you need to know succinctly. However this exercise volume has so many errors and typo's in it as to render it almost completely useless. I am fairly comfortable with the course so when doing chart-work exercises was able to see who was right or wrong whenever my answer differed from that given here. Unfortunately this book was wrong on far too many occasions. It you were struggling with the chart-work exercises then these erroneous answers would only confuse you even more.
I tried the publishers web site for an errata but none seems to exist. Shame.

Agreed - just found two howlers in Chapter 8. I am just starting to learn so these really annoyed me once I'd gone over and over the figures only to discover I was right! I hope the Admiralty info is correct in the real world - but maybe not....

I'm finding the exercises in this book useful even though I'm not using the accompanying reference book. I'm doing my Yachtmaster online and bought this book to give me extra practice material. There are a few small errors which so far have been easy to spot and the explanations for the answers are good. I've also used some weather books RYA Weather Handbook - Northern Hemisphere and Weather at Sea which have been good.
