This book deals with almost everything you need to know about travelling an atlantic circuit in a small boat. We took this book with us on our own trip and found ourselves thumbing through it at regular intervals. The book is littered with anecdotes about his own experiences in various places, which makes it much more than a just a sailing manual. He deals with prevalent wind directions, general weather information, sea states, navigation, fitting out, provisioning, simple recipes, SSB radio frequencies, power, anchorages and a whole lot more. A must have for anyone embarking on this sort of trip and even the armchair traveller. This is the most pratical and down to earth book we have read on the subject. It is written in a nonchalant manner by a man who knows exactly what he is doing.
