5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly Useful! 22 Feb 2011
By JJA
Format:Paperback
I am familiar with the author who is well known on the south coast for his vast experience. I am a fairly experienced Yachtmaster and was given this book as a gift. I don't ever suggest that I know it all, but was initially skeptical that there would be many I didn't know. In actual fact this is a cracking little read with helpful hints for all levels. It is not really a reference guide in as much as 200 snippets of wisdom from one of the worlds best sailors. Recommended reading before a holiday or just to keep on the boat for those longer sails!

5.0 out of 5 stars 200 very well worth tips 31 Jan 2012
By Norton
Format:Paperback
I have bought this booklet because of the author (T. Cunnlife) and its conciseness. I know most such tip's collections are disappointing. However this one really is useful, strongly rooted in practice, oriented to what we feel is important but had not thought before, and very easy to read and understand. Very good value for money. I decided to read a couple during my subway commuting and unfortunately did it all in one-week. I'm now re-reading most of them and trying them as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Skipper's tips 22 Sep 2011
Format:Paperback
An excellent buffet of useful advice; great for dipping-in whenever you have an odd moment. Most sailors will already know some of the tips, but few will know all.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as expected. 30 May 2013
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I found a lot of the tips were general knowledge, not what I expected from an author I have a lot of respect.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice bedside reading in small doses. 18 Dec 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
It has so much information that if it is read in one go much will be lost. It is for reading in small doses and referred to often in the future. Good book to have on board to refer to in case of necessity when one cannot quite remember something but knows it is in there.

5.0 out of 5 stars Useful tips - some translation needed! 16 Oct 2012
By Davo
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Lots and lots (200!) of tips which are worth re-reading over again however the author's dry sense of humour and his prose can take a little getting use to but don't let that put you off.
