The thing that attracted me to this was the depth from front to rear. It fits comfortably behind a nest of tables or angled TV stand.
My tannoy front speakers have quite a good range and this just fills in the extreme low frequency sound effects on movies. I let low frequencies go to both front and subwoofer to avoid any discontinuity.
The sound is clear and strong. In the battle scenes of LoTR a whole new level of menace appears from this speaker that there was hardly a hint of before. I turn up the volume on it rather more than my amplifier's auto-setup would indicate, though. Strange, because the amp is Yamaha too, but it sets the subwoofer to inaudible levels by default.
Finally, I use a smart switch to power it on and off with the amplifier. This stops it using power when not in use and prevents any possible mains hum problems occurring.
Ideally I would have liked a cherry finish, but there was not much on offer in this category and nothing much as slender as these.
A good choice if space and/or budget are limited, and difficult to better.

I already have a Yamaha YAS101bl SoundBar and although the lower frequencies and bass from it's inbuilt subwoofer are quite good I new it could be improved.
I purchased this subwoofer to connect to that and it doesn't disappoint.
Connection is easy using the supplied sound cable. This is a bit flimsy and I'm sure a better, separately purchased cable could make improvements. A mains socket is also required to connect the subwoofer's internal amp..
On first plugging in and connecting there was no output, operator error, but a quick consultation with the soundbar's instructions soon sorted that!
I have the volume turned to half and find this more than enough. Any further and the lower frequencies dominate the sound.
The bass output is not overblown and very controlled. It really does add more presence to films, music and drama.
The physical size is acceptable and makes siting much easier than some of the larger offerings elsewhere.
So, very pleased with this purchase.
